Equine Studies
The Equine Studies concentration courses will incorporate riding (time under saddle) as well as ground work. This facility currently features a 20-stall barn complete with wash racks, tack room, and grooming stalls and is close to the Wellington show grounds. Practices will be held in the 150′ x 250′ sand arena. Students in the equestrian concentrations (both riding and nonriding) will have classes at both Keiser Flagship Campus and the equestrian facility. The facility allows a complete education for the students in the equestrian curriculum, including event management, facility operations, riding and showing, hands-on opportunities with basic and advanced horse care.
Keiser University will also offer an Equestrian team that is open to all Flagship campus students. Members of the Equestrian team will be exposed to riding lessons as well as local competitions. Once the program is fully enrolled it is anticipated that the students will compete in IHSA events.
